If you are concerned about hair loss, you are definitely not alone. There are nearly 35 million American men who suffer from some degree of hair loss. Do not dye or perm your hair right away. If you like to chemically treat your hair, you should do that before your procedure. Make any appointments for this sort of thing at least seven days or more before your hair transplant procedure. You will have to wait at least a month afterwards. It would also be very painful to have this done right away when your scalp is raw and tender.

Take it easy after surgery. In the first place, this is a minor procedure but it is surgery. Your body needs its strength to heal. In the second place, strenuous activity makes you sweat and you do not want to do a lot of that right away. Most people do go back to work within a few days but it is important to relax. Use this as an excuse to pamper yourself and relax for a few days. Everyone can use some rest and relaxation every now and again.

You may want to wear a hat at first. Your scalp will be pink and there will be tiny scabs around it where the micro incisions were. This may make you feel self conscious. Many people feel better wearing a hat for the first five to seven days. That is also a good idea to keep the sun off of your scalp. The last thing you need is a sunburn right after you have had this surgery.

Try to be a little patient with the process. Your hair did not disappear overnight and it will not grow back overnight either. The process takes a bit for the hair to grow. Hair growth is cyclical. The grafts that were placed may not grow at the exact same rate. You should have real results by the eighth month following your procedure. By that time, about 90% of the new grafts should be growing. After they have had a chance to grow out completely, your hair should look totally natural.
