  Your scalp has approximately 2,000 follicles per every inch. Each follicle swells a bit when it is filled with pigment, and so the entire scalp cannot be completed in one session. If your head is is primary bald, you’ll need about three sessions to achieve the desired results.

  In order to give you a hairline that is indistinguishable from the one God gave you (or that you with He gave you), your hair loss specialist will apply the pigment gradually. In the first session, they’ll likely apply a pigment that is just slightly lighter than the shade of your natural hair color. In the second session, they’ll add several pigment shades that perfectly match to your natural scalp, giving your hairline the textured appearance that you would have if the follicles grew hair. During this session, they’ll probably add pigment throughout the section of your scalp that has hair, to help blend the two sections together. In the last session, your hair restoration technician adds details and completes your scalp micropigmentation.

• What health and safety precautions are taken to make sure the environment is hygienic?
  
  Since a needle is used to apply the pigment to your scalp, you have a heightened risk of being exposed to blood-born pathogens. For this reason, the micropigmentation clinic should follow the Health Protection Unit’s protocol for infection control.
