Energy and healing

If you have a busy schedule, you know just how difficult it can be to stay healthy throughout the week. You might have a really demanding job and a family to take care of, and it can get in the way of eating healthy food and having good diet practices. Aside from having issues with eating healthy, you might forget to drink enough water, and you might be suffering from insomnia, gut and digestive issues, and anxiety. When we neglect our bodies and overall health, we start to feel emotionally or physically drained, and overall unwell. However, with some quick tips, we can get right back on track. Here are three natural remedies for living a healthy life.

1. Meal prep ahead of time

One way you can ensure that you and your family are eating well is to make your food ahead of time. If you want a healthy lunch to take to the office, be sure to prepare some food and put it into Tupperware containers to take along with you. This way, you don’t have to find yourself stopping by a fast food spot to get something before your next meeting, or spending a lot of time and money trying to find a healthy choice. Some great options for meal prepping ideas are to bake some chicken and make a pot of rice and steamed veggies and then splitting it up between a few days worth of food, or making chicken fajitas with peppers and onions on a baking sheet and taking some whole wheat tortillas in your lunch bag. You can make a large healthy casserole and then split it up between a few days as well, or throw some healthy ingredients into a crock pot while you are at work and come home to a healthy meal to feed your family. This is just one way you can stay healthy even through a busy week.

2. Set a “water alarm”

If you find that you are not staying hydrated enough throughout your day, you can simply keep a refillable water bottle by your desk at work, and set an alarm for a couple hour intervals throughout the day. Fill your bottle at noon and try to finish it by 2 pm, and then your alarm will go off. This is to make sure that you remember to drink and fill your bottle, as we can easily forget when we have a busy schedule. Staying hydrated keeps us healthy, makes sure our organs work properly, and keep our immune system boosted. Drinking water also helps with digestion. Did you know that digestive diseases affect about 60 to 70 million people, and actually led to the death of 245,921 people in 2009? Be sure to stay hydrated! Your body will thank you.

3. Create a sleep routine

Creating a bedtime routine allows for your body and mind to be signaled that you are trying to wind down and helps get rid of insomnia. Getting enough sleep is a wonderful way to stay healthy, as our body repairs itself when you are sleeping. It also helps you concentrate better and feel happier. You will have more energy to take on the day and sleeping also helps to make sure we do not get sick. One great routine is taking a hot shower before bed and reading a book. Both activities are wonderful, natural ways to promote sleep, and the more you do it, the more your body will associate it with bedtime and signal to the brain that it needs to start slowing down.

If you’re trying to stay healthy, these are some great tips to consider if you’re someone who has a busy schedule. While some people might find it more challenging to stay healthy while they are leading a busy life, it’s not impossible! These simple tricks will show you.
