Getting Social Security Disability Insurance is not an easy task. It’s a long, drawn-out process that takes up time and resources. A good Social Security Disability law firm can help, but you also need to work hand-in-hand with your doctor for approval. This video explains what you need to talk with your doctor about in order to get your SSDI.
Doctors will help you make your claim to the SSDI judge. Their medical reports, diagnosis, and treatment plan will all be used as evidence to legitimize your claim. That’s why it’s so important to communicate with them on a regular basis and work with them to find the right treatment plan. Well, that and it will help you feel better, of course.
When the doctor asks patients how they’re doing, they often will respond reflexively, saying “I’m fine.” You need to be specific about how you are really doing though. Since the last visit, are your symptoms better, worse, or the same? Are there side effects from medication you are taking that are unpleasant? If you have a physical condition, is it affecting your mental health and vice versa?
Make sure you’re clear with your doctor about things you’re no longer able to do or things that are very difficult to do that used to be easy. They will record this and address it with treatment, and this is all is important to your SSDI claim.
