There are some symptoms of fibroid cysts that are more common than others, such abnormal menstrual bleeding, but there are also other symptoms that few women realize are the products of having these uterine tumors. Here are just a few.
Discomfort or Pain During Sexual Intercourse.
One of the most worrisome symptoms of fibroid cysts is discomfort or pain during sexual intercourse. Depending on the size and the location of the fibroids, they may cause problems with intercourse. It may only be in a certain position, or may only happen at a certain time of the menstrual cycle, but it’s still a serious problem. One problematic enough to warrant an immediate trip to the doctor.
Rectal Pressure.
Some of the symptoms of fibroid cysts are actually issues with the bathroom. If in a certain place, fibroids can press against women’s rectums, which cause feelings of rectal fullness. In other words, like they need to go to the bathroom. Worse, they can even cause difficulty having bowel movements, and even sometimes cause pain during bowel movements. If bad enough, fibroids may even cause hemorrhoids to develop.
Bladder Problems.
Another bathroom issue fibroids can cause is pressing against the bladder. The most common symptom that comes as a result of fibroids pushing up against the bladder is the need to urinate frequently. Oftentimes, women may have to get up several times throughout the night to use the bathroom, and may even have trouble urinating, despite having a full bladder.
It’s important to keep in mind that these symptoms of fibroid cysts are highly uncommon. In the majority of cases, these benign tumors are asymptomatic, which means that many women who have fibroids may not even know they do, as they’ll never experience any signs and symptoms of fibroids.
That being said, if you begin to notice that you’ve developed these symptoms of fibroid cysts, you will need to call your doctor, and discuss the various uterine fibroid treatments available to you. If you have any questions about the uterine fibroids treatment options out there, feel free to share in the comments.
