Group fitness

Anyone in our world can tell you that healthy living is important. But why it’s so important and how to actually do it aren’t quite as easy of questions to answer. We’re here to help!
What are the two leading causes of death in the United States?
Heart disease and stroke.
How can group fitness help?
If you are over 40 and remain active, you can reduce your risk of stroke by over 50% compared to your counterparts who aren’t active.
Exercising regularly, like attending group fitness classes or participating in group fitness training can reduce your blood pressure (heavily linked to heart disease) by approximately 75%.
I think I’m pretty average among my peers. That’s enough to keep me healthy, right?
No!
You need things like fitness nutrition plans and help with athletic training.
For measurements of health like muscle-strengthening exercises and aerobic activities, more than 80% of adults do not meet the recommended guidelines. All major muscle groups should be worked in muscle-strengthening exercises 2 or more days a week. A moderate-aerobic activity, such as a brisk walk through a park or around the neighborhood, should be done for at least 2 and a half hours. If you bump it up to a vigorous-intensity aerobic activity, like kicking that brisk walk up to a jog, you still need an hour and 15 minutes to stay on target. Less than 5% of adults get physical activity for at least 30 minutes every day. In fact, a recent study reports that by the year 2030, 115 million adults (about half of us in the United States) are projected to fit guidelines to be considered obese. From people who sit less than four hours a day, to people who sit more than 11 hours a day, the chance of premature death is raised by 40%.
That’s a lot of numbers and facts, and all those guidelines seem like not only a lot to do, but even to try to keep track of. That’s why a group fitness class is such a great and fun solution to keeping you healthy, active, fit, and having fun as you do it.
Group fitness offers:
A consistent schedule to keep you on track, while still being flexible enough for almost anyone.
A team atmosphere of support, knowledge, and dedication. No matter where you are in your group fitness journey, the personal trainers around you will cheer you on. Simply being around others doing aerobic or muscle-strengthening exercises has shown to improve your own.
A great variety of options! Try a dance class like zumba – even if you have two left feet. Try yoga or pilates – even if you never intend to wear the pants! Try aerobics or spinning – and have a towel handy for all that water weight you’re about to sweat out.
The benefits are endless, the results are clear, and your life improvements will be easy to see and feel. Why wait?! Start researching group fitness in your area now, and start living the way you deserve to.
